Natural Plants vs Artificial Plants
Posted on 12th January 2023 at 17:00
Using plants as decoration has never been so popular, with their ability to completely transform a space. Whether that be a small artificial plant on the dining table, an artificial flower wall in a beauty salon or blossoming spring flowers in a garden or shop you’re passing.
Natural and artificial plants both have their benefits and both have the potential to look just as great as each other! Here at Luxury Gardens and Living, we stock both artificial plants and natural plants, as well as luxury planters!
Artificial Plants
When looking to buy decorations for your home, office or workplace, plants are guaranteed to add a little bit more life to your space. Artificial plants come with a large number of benefits, which should be heavily considered when choosing your plants.
Made to Last
For a lot of people, keeping a real plant alive can be a serious challenge - some are born with the green finger and some just aren’t! So, whether you keep forgetting to water them, are overwatering them, providing too much or too little sunlight, or even if the soil you’re using is the wrong type, a lot can go wrong. With an artificial plant, all you have to worry about is finding the perfect place to put it!
Our artificial plants are all UV protected, meaning they will not be damaged in the sun, making them perfect for both indoor and outdoor use.
Flexible
Another great thing about artificial plants is that you have a lot more flexibility to move the plants around and reshuffle your decor, without having to think about sunlight, temperatures or other factors. You can easily move your faux plant from one room to another or, if it’s an outdoor plant, move it around the garden if you’re fancying a change.
Fake Plants Aren’t Toxic
If you have pets sniffing around or young children on the loose, their safety is key. It’s important to know that a number of plants can be toxic when ingested. Artificial plants enable you to keep your loved ones safe.
Our artificial plant range features many different styles including:
Natural Plants
Natural plants are another great way to add a pop of colour to any space. Despite being more needy than its artificial counterpart, there's still a number of benefits to investing in live plants.
Mental Health Benefits
Live plants come with a wide range of health benefits, both physical health and mental health. Firstly, having live plants around your office and your home has been proven to help lower stress and anxiety levels. A 2007 study found a bacterium in plant soil called mycobacterium vaccae, that triggers the release of serotonin.
Having live plants in your space has also been proved to increase productivity and creativity, whether that be in a school, workplace and even living area. As well as this, other studies have also suggested that spending time around plants help with memory and concentration levels due to their calming effect and influence.
Physical Health Benefits
As well as the mental health benefits, there are a few physical health benefits that come with live plants, which have been found in a number of studies.
One of which being NASA’s study, indicating that live plants improve air quality inside a room, whilst also adding humidity to the air. By improving air quality, the study found that headaches become less common, which can be very beneficial for businesses when dealing with staff absence.
Absorbing Background Noise
Open plan offices and houses are a dominating trend right now but, with so much open space, noise pollution and background noise can be a big distraction. Having plants in the office can help absorb background noise and result in a calmer environment.
One of the best ways to do this is by positioning larger plant pots and taller plants around the edges and corners of rooms.
Our live plant range includes:
Succulents
Palms
Ferns
Peace Lilies
And more!
As with any live plant, a plant pot is needed. Luckily, here at Luxury Gardens & Living, we have a range of stunning stainless steel plant pots as well as resin plant pots, both in a range of unique styles to suit any decor.
